Mechanical Supervisor - Sizewell B Power Station
Contract type: Fixed term until start of July time 2026
Start date: Pending successful CTC clearance
Salary: £24.22 per hour NAECI rates
This will be for outage works with 13 on 1 off shift pattern + 10 hour shifts!
You will have an hourly bonus on top of the above rate of £2.37 + £2 responsibility bonus!
Key Responsibilities:
- Allocate and monitor given tasks to those under their control to achieve the required levels of performance and productivity.
- Monitor Hazard awareness
- Implement safety procedures e.g. risk assessments, method statements, permit to work etc.
- Full engagement with Improvement Observation process.
- Continuously reinforce Altrad Beyond Zero message for all site activities including error traps, Focus2Zero and Altrad Life Saving Actions.
- Drive site performance and productivity.
- Report on progress as required by site contract
- Ensure that post job assessments are carried out for all personnel in line with event completion dates.
- Sharing of lessons learned and best practices via the company wide event brief process.
- Delivery of toolbox talks, safety connect and specific safety related messages.
- To ensure that all site operations and other tasks under their supervision are carried out in a safe manner, free of risk to all members of the workforce.
- To plan, organise and execute the work within their scope to achieve the required level of safety, performance and productivity.
- To assist the Site Manager, Resident Engineer, Section engineer and other Supervisors to ensure that the operational methods are employed to carry out the required works.
- To ensure the Critical Task procedures are being correctly adhered to and administered
- To complete those administrative tasks required under the scope of the contract
- To ensure the quality standards are achieved by implementing quality procedures advising section/quality engineers of problems with procedures and standards of workmanship and cooperation in the resolution.
- To handle effectively all first line disciplinary, grievance and performance management issues.
- Demonstrate both leadership qualities and sound knowledge and understanding of pipefitting activities and processes.
- Demonstrate a sound knowledge and understanding of company policies and procedures.
- Coach and mentor members of the team
Key Requirements:
- Full Apprenticeship in relevant trade or NVQ 3 / Ace Card or equivalent in Mechanical Fitting / Discipline
- CCNSG Safety Passport or IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH Cert
- 3 years advanced craftsman status as a Mechanical Fitter
- 1 year experience as a Chargehand
- Experience of supervising in one of manufacturing, thermal, petrochemical, pharmaceutical or nuclear environments
