Asbestos Supervisor - Dounreay

Altrad is seeking an experienced Asbestos Supervisor to join our team on a major project at Dounreay. This is an excellent opportunity to lead asbestos removal operations within a highly regulated environment, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate asbestos removal activities across the project site
• Allocate daily tasks and manage work schedules for asbestos operatives
• Conduct site inspections to identify hazards and implement effective control measures
• Monitor working practices to ensure the safe handling and removal of asbestos-containing materials
• Ensure full compliance with health and safety legislation, site procedures, and company policies
• Maintain accurate documentation, including permits, daily reports, and site records
• Deliver toolbox talks and daily briefings to promote a strong safety culture
• Liaise with site management, client representatives, and project teams to support smooth project delivery
• Report incidents, near misses, and non-conformances in line with company procedures
• Support and motivate team members to maintain high standards of performance and professionalism

Requirements

• Proven experience supervising asbestos removal projects
• Valid asbestos supervisory training and certification
• Strong knowledge of current asbestos, health & safety, and environmental regulations
• Previous experience working on high-security or nuclear sites is desirable
• Excellent leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
• SC Clearance or willingness to obtain clearance is essential
