Job Overview
Altrad is currently seeking experienced Welders to support major projects across the UK, including opportunities within the nuclear sector. We welcome expressions of interest from qualified welders who are looking for their next project in 2026 and beyond. These roles offer competitive NAECI rates, testing opportunities available now, and the chance to work on nationally significant infrastructure projects.
Job Duties

Carry out welding activities in line with approved welding procedures and specifications
- Perform TIG, MMA, FCAW, and Pipe or Plate welding depending on project requirements
- Read and interpret technical drawings, weld symbols, and job instructions
- Work safely with welding equipment, materials, and tools at UK site locations
- Comply fully with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Complete weld tests prior to employment as part of the assessment process
- Support fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair activities
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, engineers, and site teams
- Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly working environment
- Contribute to high‑impact projects within a leading organisation at the forefront of the nuclear industry
Required Qualifications
- Qualified and experienced welders in the following disciplines: TIG, MMA Pipe, MMA / FCAW Plate
- Willingness to complete a weld test prior to employment
- Valid CCNSG safety passport (essential)
- Strong safety awareness and commitment to quality workmanship
- flexibility to work across multiple UK sites
- Positive attitude, reliability and strong work ethic
- Ability to work effectively as part of a site based team
- Physical capability to carry out site based and manual duties
