Piping Supervisor

Job Purpose

Oversee and coordinate all piping installation, maintenance, and repair activities at the site. Guide work crews to ensure the safe, timely, and high-quality completion of piping projects. Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Maintain a strong focus on safety and operational efficiency.

Key Duties

• Supervise on-site piping activities, including installation, modification, and repair work
• Lead and direct a team of pipefitters and contractors, providing clear instructions and guidance
• Inspect work areas regularly to ensure adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety procedures
• Monitor job progress and resolve technical or operational issues as they arise
• Ensure availability of materials, tools, and equipment for all piping tasks
• Read and interpret piping drawings, isometric diagrams, and technical documents
• Conduct safety briefings, enforce use of personal protective equipment, and foster safe work habits
• Track work records, complete progress reports, and communicate project status to site management
• Cooperate with engineers, site managers, and other supervisors to ensure smooth workflow and coordination
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in piping work
• Ensure proper housekeeping of work areas

Required Qualifications

• Significant experience in piping installation, maintenance, or supervision within an industrial setting
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage on-site piping projects
• Knowledge of piping systems, materials, and installation techniques
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to organize workload, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines
• Relevant vocational qualification or apprenticeship in pipefitting or mechanical engineering
• Flexibility to work shifts and adapt to changing project needs
• Good general fitness and ability to work at heights or in confined spaces, as required

Desirable

• Previous experience in the chemical or process industry
• Recognized safety or supervisory certification
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems
