Role Details:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-focused Quantity Surveyor to support major nuclear defence infrastructure programmes based in the Glasgow area. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop strong commercial experience within a highly regulated environment, working alongside experienced commercial and project teams.
You will support the commercial management of NEC4 contracts, assist with cost control and change management, and contribute to maintaining robust commercial governance across multiple infrastructure packages. Experience within defence, nuclear, or similarly regulated sectors would be advantageous, though not essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the commercial management of projects across the full lifecycle, from pre-contract through to final account.
- Assist in the administration of NEC4 contracts, including early warnings, compensation events, quotations, and change control processes.
- Help prepare and review cost plans, estimates, tender documentation, and commercial reports.
- Support the assessment of applications for payment, cost forecasts, and budget tracking.
- Contribute to tender evaluations, contractor assessments, and cost reviews.
- Assist with monthly reporting, cost forecasting, audits, and benchmarking activities.
- Maintain accurate commercial records, ensuring compliance with contract and governance requirements.
- Support the management of CEMAR actions, documentation, and meeting outputs.
- Work collaboratively with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to support effective delivery in a regulated nuclear defence environment.
- Assist in managing multiple NEC contract packages across various infrastructure disciplines.
Role Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within infrastructure, construction, or other regulated sectors.
- Working knowledge of NEC contracts (NEC3/NEC4), with an understanding of change management and compensation events.
- Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, with MRICS (or working towards).
- Strong communication, organisational, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Eligibility for and ability to obtain Security Clearance (SC).
- British National status (essential for defence projects).
- Experience using CEMAR and working in defence or nuclear environments (desirable).
- Client-side experience beneficial but not essential.
