  • About The Role

  • Altrad are currently looking for an experienced Governance Lead to join the team.

    The nuclear defence sector in the UK is vital for maintaining national security and strategic stability.     The Governance Lead is responsible for supporting effective programme governance, reporting and project controls. The role works with stakeholders to coordinate information, monitor progress and support the smooth delivery of projects throughout the project lifecycle.

    Key Deliverables:

    • Develop and maintain effective governance processes, procedures and reporting structures to support project delivery.
    • Coordinate governance meetings, actions and decision-making processes, ensuring information is accurate and up to date.
    • Monitor risks, issues, dependencies and actions, ensuring these are tracked and appropriately managed.
    • Prepare and maintain project reports, dashboards and governance information to support informed decision-making.
    • Work closely with project teams and stakeholders to ensure governance requirements are understood and followed.
    • Support project controls, document management and assurance activities throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across governance, reporting and project processes.

    Key Requirements / Qualifications:

    Essential:

    • 3-5 years’ experience in a governance role
    • Good knowledge of governance, risk, scheduling and project processes
    • Good understanding of project governance and controls
    • Strong organisational and leadership skills
    • Experience working with stakeholders and project teams
    • Experience supporting project controls and infrastructure projects
    • Good IT skills, including MS 365, Power BI and JIRA

    Desirable:

    • APM Chartered Project Professional
    • APMG International Project Planning and Control Practitioner
    • PRINCE 2 Practitioner
    • Managing Successful Programmes Practitioner
    • PMI Project Management Professional
    • Experience of managing stakeholders and delivery in complex live operational environment
    •  Membership of Relevant professional body
