  • About The Role

  • We are seeking a motivated and experienced Associate HR Business Partner to support the delivery of effective HR strategies and people solutions across complex, industrial environments.

    The role will work closely with operational leaders, site management and corporate stakeholders, providing practical HR advice and supporting the delivery of workforce planning, employee relations, talent development and engagement initiatives. The position will involve working across multiple locations and spending time on-site with operational teams, supporting a range of business priorities including organisational change, TUPE, restructures, industrial relations and site mobilisation activities.

    Key Deliverables / Accountabilities:

    • Support site leadership and operational managers in delivering HR initiatives aligned with business priorities
    • Provide day-to-day HR advice and guidance across employee relations, performance management, absence, conduct and other people matters
    • Support workforce planning, employee engagement, talent development and organisational effectiveness activities
    • Assist with organisational change programmes, TUPE transfers, restructures and other business transformation activities
    • Support HR activity relating to major site mobilisations, project ramp-ups and changes to operational requirements
    • Coach and support frontline managers, helping to embed consistent and values-based leadership behaviours
    • Work collaboratively with Centres of Excellence, including Learning & Development, Talent Acquisition and Reward, to deliver tailored HR solutions
    • Support employee relations activity within unionised environments, including consultation, negotiation and engagement with employee representatives where required
    • Maintain accurate HR records and documentation and support HR reporting, compliance and audit readiness
    • Ensure HR practices comply with UK employment legislation, company policies, procedures and relevant contractual requirements
    • Promote a positive employee experience and contribute to a strong culture of engagement, inclusion and continuous improvement
    • Build effective relationships with employees, managers, site leadership and wider corporate stakeholders

    Key Requirements / Qualifications:

    • Experience in an HR Advisor, HR Business Partner or similar HR role, ideally within industrial, engineering, infrastructure, construction or other operational environments
    • Experience supporting employee relations cases, organisational change and people-related projects
    • Experience of working within unionised or safety-critical environments is advantageous
    • Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
    • Strong communication, influencing and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively at all levels of an organisation
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities across different locations and operational teams
    • Practical and solutions-focused approach, with the confidence to provide clear and commercially focused HR advice
    • Ability to work collaboratively with operational teams and HR Centres of Excellence
    • Willingness to travel nationally and spend time on-site with operational teams
    • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent HR qualification
    • Strong organisational skills and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment
    • Previous experience within a complex industrial, engineering or infrastructure environment is advantageous
